ABOUT THE BENEDICTINES OF MARY, QUEEN OF APOSTLES
Sr. Wilhelmina Lancaster founded the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles in 1995 to pray and sacrifice for priests in the context of the Benedictine spirituality of ora et labora - pray and work. The motherhouse was raised to an Abbey in 2018, and is rapidly expanding, with daughter houses in Ava, MO, Evansville, IN, and Colwich, UK. They are dedicated to the full recitation of the Divine Office as laid out in the Rule of St. Benedict and to preserving beauty in the liturgy. The works of their hands are also dedicated to the glory of the altar, as the Sisters sew liturgical vestments and altar linens. In 2023, the remains of Sr. Wilhelmina were found incorrupt, a tremendous grace that has brought with it a great many miracles, both physical and spiritual.
